So, I was looking at Lina's blog - and our styles couldn't be more different! Mine is all cheesy-Italian, while hers is like a fine silk hand embroidered kerchief. (i don't get to type that word enough)
I guess that's what makes us such good compliments of each other!
I'm hoping I get to post one last time tomorrow, but if I don't - this is my last blog before taking off! I leave Thursday morning for NYC! I've typed my itinerary, have my bag all packed (I need to re-pack) but this is it...I'm actually leaving!
I'm overwhelmed and beyond excited about this trip. I'm feeling so many emotions it is hard to contain it all.
Some people have told me this is the kind of trip you take months (maybe years) to plan. They can't believe we are 1. Going 2. it's not all planned out.
For those of you that don't know, I work with cancer patients and their families. I, personally, have lost Ralph, Karen, and June to this disease; while Dawn, Linda, and Patti continue to battle. Emily is a 15 year survivor, and Alex has been clear for 2 years. This year, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Owen and Shirley. They were both participants in my events. They both touched my heart. I was blessed to befriend their families, and I lost them both within a month of each other.
We only get one chance with this life - make it count.
