In the early 1080s, William the Conqueror began to build a massive stone tower at the centre of his London fortress. Nothing like it had ever been seen before. Through the centuries that followed, successive monarchs added to the fortifications. It is suggested that while visiting the Tower of London, in three hours we should see: the famous Yeoman Warder tours and hear exciting tales from the Tower’s past, Visit the Crown Jewels, one of the unmissable highlights of a visit to the Tower of London, Visit the White Tower built by William the Conqueror, which today houses displays from the Royal Armouries’ collection.
